“ Breaking Down Spiritual Walls and Figuring Out What To Do With The Rubble”- Alaina- Seachange Astrology
Film Still From “No Other Gods But Me”- Dir. Alex Spott 2022, (casting by me- but not for the role of Mary)
When I was studying acting my teacher, Quinn, emphasized the importance of being open to whatever shows up. She used to always say-don't do the moment, let the moment DO you. Let the moment do you. Anytime we were “anticipating” in a scene, and thus losing our spontaneity, she would ask us, “What does the moment do to you?” not “ What do you expect this to do to you?” It was our job to have a handle on our craft so that we could respond to the moment with dynamic choices, precision and in service to the work, authentically. An actor has to be both soft and permeable, while active and engaged. This is when art becomes alchemy. Pisces energy is the moment doing you, Saturn is responding with the work.
Through acting, I had a profound spiritual experience that is in a class by itself. It is a modality where I found I could transcend my own mind and self perception and use my vast emotional life to convey a story wherein I, along with an audience could find catharsis. I found a container to covertly and safely experience the full scope of my feelings and instincts with a guaranteed reward. For the first time in my life I felt relief. I was able to disappear while coming fully online. Pisces season wants us to seek relief through creative expression. It helps us rediscover the methods that allow us to exist on the periphery of lifes’ structural limitations. Music, Rest, Psychedelics, Meditation, and film are all classic forms of doing this, and are all associated with Pisces.
Quote by Sally Field, 2023
On March 7th, Saturn will enter Pisces, and will remain there until 2025. While the sign of Pisces rules many things, I see that there will be collective shift regarding spirituality and the power that is derived from it. Spirituality is personal. It is passed down through your ancestry, past lives and present reality and can evolve over time. Every single one of us is a specific recipe of divine experiencing. Pisces is the cosmic soup and we are all a different blend.
When we connect to a higher power we also have to acknowledge that we have done the work to meet that power, and this is where expansion happens. We are holy in our own right. We hold a light within, a reservoir of magical intelligence within ourselves, and our higher power- be it creativity, god, chi , nature or any of the rest- is here to guide us and strengthen us in our Earthly experience, creating a work of art that is our life.
Saturn in Pisces will turn the culture towards identifying their relationship to Higher Power and the role that it plays in an active life. When Saturn was in Pisces in the 1930s, Alcoholics Anonymous was created, giving a space for addiction to be worked through with transparency, anonymity, and non judgment that was guided by a collaboration between an individual, community and a Higher Ideal. During this same cycle LSD was also discovered, a substance that ended up opening a new portal for people to connect to different realms of consciousness. LSD rose to cultural relevance in a bigger way when Saturn was in Pisces in the 60’s, only to very quickly be made illegal in 1968, as Saturn left Pisces to enter Aries. We now see a huge trend in research around using psychedelics for healing and will likely see this present more formally this time around. The first meeting of the Harm Reduction Working Group was officially held in San Francisco in 1993, when Saturn entered Pisces again, and from these meetings the National Harm Reduction Coalition was formed.
Saturn is the planet of restriction and Pisces is the sign of a lived experience that feels most comfortable without boundaries. Pisces season in particular is associated with religious and spiritual ceremonies and holistic health practices rooted in surrender and liberation. While Sagittarius represents religious and spiritual philosophies, the creation of their anecdotes and myths and the role of study and sharing spiritual wisdom, Pisces is the energy of which Sagittarius interprets and speaks. When Saturn enters Pisces the planet will be working towards building new, more functional and inclusive ways of working with these energies as well as fortifying and strengthening the ones that exist. This will both give opportunities for more connection and expansion as well as very obvious discord.

I have two goals in my astrology practice. One is to help tune you into your own intuition and connect you with your guides. Astrology alone runs the risk of becoming toxic if it is not tempered with your own nuanced relationship to it, it is a partnership not a assignment from an overlord The other is to take astrological data and help you apply it to your lived reality, so that the best outcome of the many possibilities can be achieved. It's very seldom that things happen in the precise way that an astrological textbook may describe. Astrology intersects with the already present energetic constitution to form a result. We have to look at the current state of being as these new bits of information are presented.
Mahershala Ali as the Sheikh on Ramy. That show is maybe my favorite example of combining all of the many aspects of Piscean modalities.
When I think about collective shifts in astrology, I see myself as a cosmic reporter, observing what's around me and deriving my predictions from the information that I see already existing combined with the mode of the planets, and I am able to derive a sense of how things will play out when the two factors intersect. The anti-Semitism, transphobia and misogyny currently being stoked by Christian fundamentalism is the next phase of civil unrest associated with the Pluto Return of the USA, and the shift of Saturn into Pisces.
The Jupiter/Neptune conjunction in April of 2022 was a portal to the divine and unknowable. It was a moment of inspiration that will shape generations, artistically and spiritually. The powers that be know that spiritual strength is a path to liberation that is not as easy to sequester as our Earthly resources. You can hide money but you can’t hide spirit. So, people in power are trying to distort and limit it in ways that are insidious and violent. Religious persecution and fundamentalism are employed to enforce capitalism. We will all be working through how to fight hate while being proactive in making room for other points of view to be safe. Creativity, ritual, worship and faith cultivates authenticity and fortifies us against capitalism. Creating a space for all of these things to thrive is our next assignment in collective progress.
